SZA’s ‘SOS’ Notches 12th Week At No. 1 On Billboard 200 Albums Chart

SZA’s Grammy-winning 2022 album, SOS, scores a 12th nonconsecutive week at No. 1 on the current Billboard 200 albums chart. SOS surged back to the top of the charts following the release of a deluxe version on December 20 – dubbed SOS Deluxe: LANA – featuring 15 additional tracks. SOS now has the most weeks atop the chart for an R&B album by a woman since Whitney Houston’s self-titled record spent 14 weeks at No. 1 in 1986. Following a holiday season when Christmas albums dominated the Billboard 200, the Top 10 returns to form this week. Kendrick Lamar’s GNX climbs three spots to No. 2, Sabrina Carpenter’s Short n’ Sweet jumps nine places to No. 3, the Wicked film soundtrack moves up four slots to No. 4, Billie Eilish’s Hit Me Hard and Soft vaults up nine places to No. 5, Taylor Swift’s The Tortured Poets Department moves up a spot to No. 6, Chappell Roan’s The Rise and Fall of a Midwest Princess jumps nine places to No. 7, Morgan Wallen’s One Thing at a Time vaults up 21 places to No. 8, Gracie AbramsThe Secret of Us jumps 16 spots to No. 9, and Tyler, The Creator’s CHROMAKOPIA moves up 17 places to No. 10.
