Ed Sheeran Responds Following Police Shutting Down His Surprise Street Concert In India

Ed Sheeran has publicly addressed Sunday’s (February 9) incident in India where police abruptly ended his planned street performance. The pop superstar reassured fans on Instagram that he received approval from the proper authorities for his makeshift street concert, writing “We had permission to busk btw, hence us playing in that exact spot, was planned out before, it wasn’t just us randomly turning up. All good though. See ya at the show tonight x.” Video of the incident shows police disconnecting the microphone during Sheeran’s performance of his hit song “Shape of You” for a throng of his fans.
