Going Swimming? Watch Out For This Water Dwelling Parasite

According to the Center for Disease Control, there’s a new fecal parasite that’s slowly making its way across the United States.  How?  Swimming pools.  Cryptosporidium, or “crypto” cases have gone up by about 13% per year for the past decade.  It can lead to nausea, cramps, and diarrhea.

How can you avoid it?  For starters, if someone has diarrhea, DON’T LET THEM SWIM.  I know this seems like common sense, because that’s nasty, but some people have to be told, you know?  As for yourself, just don’t drink any pool water, because that’s the quickest way to get it.
