Some Firework Safety Tips To Help You Make The Most Of July 4th

You’ve already heard about the times you can legally set off your fireworks this year.  Now, here are a few safety tips that should make this Independence Day go off without a hitch.

  1.  Never let kids handle or light any fireworks.  Even something as simple as a sparkler requires supervision, as they can burn as hot as a blowtorch.

2.  Don’t aim or throw fireworks at people.  Not only is it dangerous, it’s a great way to get you kicked out of a party.

3.  Always make sure there’s no part of your body hovering over a firework as you light it.  And the second it’s lit, run back from it!

4.  Definitely have a big source of water nearby.  A hose, or even just a bucket of water will do.  They’re called fireworks for a reason.

5.  If a firework doesn’t go off, don’t try to re-light it.   Wait for it to stop burning, then douse it in water.  After this, tie it up in two plastic bags so it doesn’t dry out before throwing it away.

I hope you have a fun and safe 4th of July this year!
