Disney has decided to bring back a scene that was initially scrapped in the upcoming Buzz Lightyear origin movie, “Lightyear”: a same-gender kiss.  In fact, this will be a FIRST for the company.

Could this have anything to do with the current internal backlash over the “Don’t Say Gay” bill in Florida?  More than likely.

The kiss is between two female characters, one is named Alicia Hawthorne, voiced by UZO ADUBA, and the other is unidentified.  There was always a relationship between the characters in the film, it’s just the kiss that was removed, but it’s back.

“Lightyear” hits theaters on June 17th.
