“Didn’t That Come Out?” – Three More TV Shows Cancelled Before Airing

If you’ve ever made a thing, you know it can sometimes take a tiny miracle for a product to get finished, much less get finished well. With so many hands on production, this is one thousand percent more true when making a TV show. Here are three more shows cancelled “before their time” (arguably).

The Cheetah Girls

“The Cheetah Girls? I saw that when I was five! It came out!” Yes, you saw The Cheetah Girls movies, but notice this articles about TV shows. Not feeling so smug now, are we? *ahem* Yes, The Cheetah Girls had three movies that blew up the Disney Channel, but did you know they were also supposed to have a follow-up TV show on ABC? Why didn’t it happen? Cheetah Girls star Raven-Symonè was too busy with some other show she was working on the time. That is SO Raven of her.

Garbage Pail Kids

Yes, they made a cartoon based on those gross trading cards. Luckily for us, angry 80’s parent groups kept CBS from ever exposing us to this on Saturday mornings. They did dump it in foreign markets, which is why you can actually buy the show on DVD today. Although, we can’t imagine why you would.

Immigrants

The team behind Nickelodeon’s Rugrats decided to strike out and make their first ever series targeting adults, which was set to debut on Spike TV. The name of that show? “Immigrants.” Not hard to see why Spike TV never pulled the trigger on it.
