When Is It Safe To Launch Fireworks Around Shreveport-Bossier?

July’s almost here, and fireworks season is upon us!  However, just because the fireworks stands are opened doesn’t mean you can just shoot off roman candles whenever you like!  Here is a handy guide to a few local ordinances so you can get the maximum safety out of your firework fun!

Starting today, if you live in Bossier City, you can set off your pyrotechnics from 10 a.m. until 10 p.m.  This lasts until July 5th.

In Shreveport, you also have from now until July 5th.  They don’t let you start up until later in the day however, with the safe times being noon until 10 p.m.

While you might be tempted to pull an all-nighter with your bottle rockets, be warned that doing so can face a hefty fine or worse:  up to 500 bucks and/or 60 days jail time in Bossier, or a 500 to 1000 dollar fine in Shreveport.

Have fun this coming 4th of July week, but stay safe out there!
